Year-Round Training

ESB Training offers a variety of lessons and workshops fostering personal growth and individual coaching. Ballet, classical & contemporary repertoires, pas-de-deux, brio and pointe work are some of the classes offered at ESB which also provides body conditioning, Floor Barre, Pilates and Gyrokinesis classes and is supported by a team of medical doctors and sport therapists.

 

ESB also offers a large array of different dancing styles, from Spanish folk to contemporary, caractère, African beat and many others. Students get the opportunity to work with ballet masters from around the world and unique opportunities to create with choreographers. They also participate in yearly Teacher Training sessions designed for them at the end of which some aspiring pedagogues get to teach a ballet class supervised by ESB’s artistic team.

 

ESB unique template of education proposes applied music classes, dance research & history, applied anatomy, mindfulness techniques and meditation. Basic human sciences information is part of each trimester studies so students can integrate their training and acquire a better sense of empowerment. In-house demonstrations and yearly performances punctuate each trimester while Trainees participate in international galas and performances.

 

Junior Program

ESB Junior Program dancers aged 13 to 15 start their day at 10:00am and finish at 16:15pm. The late afternoon hours are dedicated to their academic studies. All of them must follow an online academic program and get granted by ESB permissions to attend eventual exams; students can therefore optimally combine their intensive artistic and academic studies.

 

ESB Junior Program offers a variety of classes starting with technique, brio/pointe work and pas-de-deux classes as well as workshops on various choreographers. Besides their ballet classes, based on the fundamentals of ballet following the guidelines of ESB teaching, the Junior Program dancers experience a large array of different types of dancing, from Spanish folk to Contemporary, Caractère, African Beat and many others.

 

ESB Junior Program dancers perform at in-house demonstrations and sometimes mix with other levels during specific workshops. Mindfulness techniques, meditation and basic human sciences information is part of their trimester studies so they can integrate and their training and acquire a better sense of empowerment.

 

ESB Junior Program is the level before preceding the Advanced Program. Therefore, the end of the season assessments must help both students and faculty to get a better sense of the potential and the capacity to handle the further steps of ESB’s intensive course.

 

 

Advanced Program

ESB Advanced Program dancers aged 15 to 17 start their day at 11:45am and finish at 17:45pm. The morning hours are dedicated to their academic studies. All of them follow an online academic program and permissions to attend eventual exams are granted by ESB so students can optimally combine their intensive artistic and academic studies.

ESB Advanced Program offers a variety of classes starting with technique, brio/pointe work and pas-de-deux classes as well as workshops on various classical choreographers going from Bournonville to Dawson or Forsythe. The Advanced Program dancers experience a large array of different types of dancing, from Spanish folk to Contemporary, Caractère, African Beat and many others.

ESB Advanced Program dancers perform at in-house demonstrations and sometimes mix with other levels during specific workshops. Mindfulness techniques, meditation and basic human sciences information is part of their trimester studies so they can integrate and their training and acquire a better sense of empowerment.

ESB Advanced Program is the last level before entering the Trainee Program. Therefore, the end of the season assessments must confirm the physical/artistic/technical aptitudes as well as the adequate commitment and dedication necessary to pursue the last one or two-year training within the Trainee Program.

 

Trainee Program

ESB Trainee Program is a unique course for 17 to 19 years old dancers in need of a stepping-stone to launch their future professional careers. Trainees work from Mondays to Fridays on a full schedule from 10:00am to 5:45pm and on Saturdays from 10:00am to 11:45am or until 3:00pm if needed.

 

ESB Trainee Program, led by Associate Artistic Director Olivier Wecxsteen,  offers a variety of classes starting with technique, brio/pointe work and pas-de-deux classes and workshops on Dawson style, Forsythe technologies and on choreographers such as Bournonville, Balanchine, Neumeier, Duato, Béjart, Montero, Elo or Pite. It includes a preparation for international auditions with the experience of in-house demonstrations and performances in the Netherlands and abroad.

 

ESB Trainee Program dancers have, over the last few years, joined companies such as The Royal Ballet, Mariinsky Ballet, Finnish Ballet, Zürich Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet, Scottish Ballet, Mikhailovsky Ballet, Royal Swedish Ballet, Stanislavsky Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Bavarian Ballet, Ballet du Capitole, Béjart Ballet Lausanne or the Dutch National Ballet.
