Susan Bleines has worked as a student supervisor for the European School of Ballet since January 2019. She provides day-to-day support/meals for the dancers living within the Chasse Lodge. She provides a caring, safe and happy environment that is as ‘homelike’ as possible. Susan has raised five children of her own, 3 girls and 2 boys (2 of which have ballet experience). Susan is also the European School of Ballet Uniform co-ordinator.

Born in Australia, Susan graduated from High School in 1987 and started her training as a nurse at the Mater Misericordiae Hospital, working in the children’s, elderly, surgical and medical wards. She then graduated from the Central Queensland University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Social Work.

During Susan’s extensive career as a Social Worker, she has worked in many departments. She trained in the Palliative Care Unit at the Rockhampton Base Hospital providing grief, loss and support counselling. She also worked in the Rehabilitation Ward, Young Mothers program and the Antenatal clinic, conducting psychosocial assessments, case management, counselling and stress management.

Susan also has 10 years of experience as a youth supervisor working in several Youth Housing Organisations within Central Queensland, such as Capricorn Youth Housing and Girls Time Out, where she dealt with crisis care of homeless youth, 15yrs to 21yrs of age. She provided counselling and case management support and education on life skills, cooking, cleaning, budgeting and employment opportunities and was responsible for developing and implementing educational programs, training in areas such as Mental Health, Adolescent Risk taking and Families Youth and community care.

Susan also has a love of cooking and herbs. She co-owned her own successful restaurant/café for eight years with her partner at St Aubins Village Nursery in Rockhampton, Australia, catering for weddings/functions and the local community.
